Philippine Nurses Association
of Wisconsin

The goal of the Philippine Nurses Association of Wisconsin shall be to provide an organization that upholds the image and foster the welfare of Filipino American nurses in Wisconsin.

Philippine Nurses Association of Wisconsin Was Formed
by Minnie Parbs

In March of 2007 a group of Filipino nurses from area hospitals & nursing homes in Milwaukee decided to organize an organization that upholds the image and fosters the welfare of Filipino-American nurses in the state of Wisconsin by promoting highest standards of professional practice, educational, cultural advancement and socio-economic stability. There were 13 founding members and after several months, membership was extended to Filipino nurses in nearby counties like Racine and Kenosha.

The association believes Filipino nurses have had a positive impact on the Nursing Profession by sharing their ideas, talents, experiences and dedication to promote positive patient outcomes. Wisconsin warmly accepted Filipino nurses in its diverse society and integrating Filipino nurses into Wisconsin’s general nursing community is important to the association. It is our priority to assist and facilitate active participation of migrant Filipino nurses in adjustment to their new roles in the US health care system and American society that includes dealing with this cold snowy Wisconsin weather.

In 2008 we were inducted as the 38th chapter member of Philippine Nurses Association of America (PNAA).
We would like to continue with our mission and vision of educating our members and community.
